2 BHK Interior Design in Pune

A 2 BHK is the most common home we are asked to design in Pune, and the one where planning matters most. There is no spare room to absorb a mistake, so every decision has to earn its floor area.

2 BHK interior design cost in Pune

A full 2 BHK interior runs ₹12–16 lakh, covering design, materials, all site work and styling through to handover. Where a project lands in that band depends on scope and finish rather than on square feet: the kitchen and the wardrobes together usually account for close to half the budget, because they are the most joinery-heavy elements in the home.

Interior design charges in Pune vary widely between studios, and much of that is down to what a quote leaves out. Ours is transparent interior pricing: a line-item quote before work begins, so you can see the kitchen priced against the wardrobes and the ceiling, and defer a line if you would rather spend it elsewhere. The most common trade-off we discuss is spending on kitchen internals and wardrobe hardware, which you use daily, rather than on additional panelling.

Where the space is usually won

In most Pune 2 BHKs the living and dining share one volume, and the win is making that read as one considered space rather than two leftover ones. In Bhavik Shah's home in Punawale the living and dining were planned together from a bare builder handover, with a study nook worked into the layout rather than added afterwards.

Opening the kitchen to the living room, as we did in Ashish Kadhane's home in Balewadi, buys apparent space and suits households that entertain. It is not right for everyone: if you cook heavily, a closed kitchen keeps the smell and noise where it belongs.

The second bedroom problem

The second bedroom in a 2 BHK is rarely just a bedroom. It is a guest room, a study, a nursery, or a parent's room several times over its life. Designing it for one of those uses is the mistake we most often correct. A wall-mounted desk that does not block the bed, storage that works for either an adult or a child, and a bed that can change without the joinery changing will serve far longer.

Storage, honestly

Two-bedroom homes fail on storage before they fail on anything else. Wardrobes to the ceiling rather than to a loft, a full-height utility unit near the kitchen, a shoe and key drop at the entry, and a planned place for luggage will do more for daily life than any feature wall. We plan these at the start, not once the joinery is already booked.
